Nestled in the heart of Glendale, California, adjacent to the 2 freeway, lies a private RC airfield where passionate pilots gather to fly their aircraft against the majestic backdrop of the Verdugo Mountains.


This secure, well-maintained facility features a solar-powered charging station and provides a safe, controlled environment for RC enthusiasts to pursue their love of aviation.

Glendale Field Flying Rules & Regulations:

This facility is designed to accommodate four general types of powered remotely controlled aircraft in separate areas of the park.


Radio controlled heavier than one pound on the main runway. This facility does NOT accommodate free flight aircraft, Kites, rocketry of any kind; R/C cars or R/C trucks.

  • All pilots must fly from one of the designated pilot stands.
  • 400 feet maximum flying altitude.
  • Comply with all AMA rules
  • Follow all FAA airspace restrictions.
  • Keep your un-manned aircraft within visual line of site
  • Do not fly over the freeway, near the water tank, or near any neighborhoods.
  • Take-off and landings to be in the same direction according to the wind.
  • Down-wind passes over the runway are prohibited when other aircraft are flying.
  • Some sort of fuel recovery system must be used when fueling planes to avoid spillage.
  • All pilots will follow taxiways directions as posted.
  • Pilots will call out their intentions (landing, take-off, etc) and clear the runway quickly.
  • There shall be no flying during facility mowing operations
  • There shall be no flying during TFRs & NOTAMs that affect the area
  • Please do not leave TRASH at the facility - Staff will have to remove it by hand for you.
  • Do not spark or light anything (incl: cigarettes, LiPos, fireworks, etc). This field is extremely volatile and succeptable to fires.
  • Do not fly within 300 ft of the Police/Sheriff Shooting Range.
  • Do not fly near, above, or around the Interstate 2 freeway. We have had incidents involving Law Enforcement on this mattter. Repercussions are extremely heavy for violating this. You have been WARNED.
Failure to comply with these regulations may result in a citation, loss of flying privilege or both.


A valid Glendale Field Club membership and AMA membership is required.
